How a lap reaches the public top

The LapVision leaderboard is a global ranking of the fastest laps on world circuits. Any pilot with the LapVision Mobile app can submit a lap — after physics and track auto-validation, it lands in the public top.

How it works

1. Record a lap in LapVision Mobile

With phone GPS, RaceBox or Dragy. The app auto-detects the track from your coordinates.

2. Tap «Submit»

On the lap card. Within a second the app shows «accepted» or «needs review».

3. Auto-validation

Coordinates within track bounds, realistic physics, no teleport, GPS fix ≥ 5 Hz. Passed — we publish.

4. You're in the public top

On the track page and in your profile. You can share the link or remove the lap anytime.

What auto-validation checks

Track geometry

Every GPS point must be inside the track polygon. Off-track and pit-lane sections don't count.

Physics

Accelerations and G-forces must match speed. Infinite lateral G or 0→100 in 1.5s on a stock BMW = rejected.

GPS quality

Minimum 5 Hz fix rate, HDOP < 2.0, ≥ 5 satellites. Weak fix — the lap is tagged «low accuracy».

Sanity check

Lap time must fall within a sane range for the track — not faster than theoretical minimum, not slower than the bound.

Frequently asked questions

What does ✓ verified mean?

Track geometry, start/finish line and sector points have been manually verified by the LapVision team. On verified tracks, leaderboard times are directly comparable. Unverified tracks still work, but boundaries are approximate (from OSM).

Which devices are supported?

Phone GPS (10 Hz on iPhone/Android), RaceBox Mini/Micro over Bluetooth, Dragy GPS. ESP32 / OBD-II — in development. Multi-channel systems (GPS + IMU + CAN) give the most accurate physics and land in the top without the «low accuracy» flag.

Who can see my lap?

Any visitor of lapvision.app. Pilot profile is public by default. In the app settings you can make your profile private — the lap stays in your history but doesn't appear in the public top.

Can I delete my own lap?

Yes. In the app, open the lap card → «Remove from leaderboard». The lap disappears from the public top within a minute. It stays in your local history.

Anti-cheat — what about scripted submissions?

Auto-validation catches most anomalies: teleport, unphysical G-forces, weird accelerations. We also store the raw GPS track — moderators can manually review a disputed lap and remove it if it doesn't match the physics of a real car/bike/kart.

I don't see my track in the catalogue

Email hello@lapvision.app with coordinates and a photo of the S/F marking. We'll add the track to the catalogue in the next update. Free.

How much does submitting laps cost?

Nothing. Submitting to the public leaderboard is free across all LapVision tiers. Pro features are about deep post-analysis (CAN, sector analytics, video overlay), not lap submission itself.
